UNITING SHAMANISM, ALCHEMY AND MODERN SCIENCE
Homeopathy works, heals and is easy to explain and understand. All that is needed is a change of perspective to a scientific paradigm that suits homeopathy and on which basis its laws make sense.
In the current discussion about the effectiveness of homeopathy, this book gives clear answers and illuminates the historical, philosophical and scientific backgrounds of this holistic medicine. It shows that there is much more to it than a healing method.
Homeopathy offers a medical alternative that does not produce resistant germs, does not bring hormones and toxins into the body and the environment, and due to its minimal consumption of resources is sustainable, inexpensive and can be used worldwide.
Homeopathy is a healing method that moves between the worlds of modern science and the traditional holistic paths and can contribute the best from both sides. It developed an accuracy of observation, documentation and knowledge of remedies, as well as an international exchange of experience, as is only known from modern sciences. And it builds on the depth of the intuition of the practitioners, on the direct encounter with the essence of the remedies and on an understanding of the life force as only the holistic traditions cultivate. Only those who see both sides can truly understand homeopathy and use or exercise its full potential.

As soon as I started to read the introduction in this book, I felt inspired to continue reading. This book presents a path that is based on holistic healing methods, from the ancient traditions of alchemy, to the healing art of Shamanism, and the connection between homeopathy and modern materialistic science. The author, by using this concept, is giving a clearer understanding of how homeopathy and healing in general was discovered through our early ancestors.
His explanation of illness and perception is well explained - in a course of a homeopathic treatment we are helped to observe ourselves more closely. He gives the understanding that illness is a form of expression of the individual and that their reaction to the demands of life can be perceived to produce an overall picture of that person, which then can be matched to the picture of a homeopathic remedy.
Insight of intuition
The author compares shamanistic healing with homeopathic healing. My understanding of what he writes is that both forms of healing are deeply rooted in the insight of intuition, with both methods based on experience and observation in their respective teachings and the practice of healing. The similarities and differences are explained in a detailed and comprehensive way, complete with a section which refers to an interview with Jeremy Sherr, one of the modern homeopaths, who is also very aware of the inner connection between homeopathy and shamanic healing.
The book has several quotes from The Organon and explanations of Samuel Hahnemann's work as an alchemist, with reference to Christianity and spiritual patterns. The chapter, 'Homeopathy and the Spiritual Path', considers that this could be a way to return to the wholeness of life, a holistic healing which today we would call a spiritual one, thus explaining that life is one, part of a single energy field, of one spirit.
The book discusses the opponents (sceptics) to homeopathy and how, from the beginning of its foundation, homeopathy has been controversial. However, the author reminds us that there was nothing like today's conventional medicine in the 18th century when Samuel Hahnemann, who introduced several ideas that are now part of good medical and scientific practice, was practising. The justification of homeopathy is written abut intensively in order to evaluate its healing method, which moves between the worlds of modern science and traditional holistic paths.
A great advocate
I found this book to be very thought-provoking and the author has written with a great passion for homeopathic healing. His view is that the healing methods of homeopathy can move between modern science and the traditional holistic path to contribute to good things from both sides. Since reading this book, I have learnt that Jorg Wichmann has sadly recently passed away; we have lost a great advocate for homeopathy and this book will be a great legacy by him for the future.
